Meet the Team

Any organization’s personality comes from the top, and Genesis Group is blessed to have Barry Aho as its founder and leader for 20 years. Barry is a true engineer at heart, and he has created many processes in the areas of design, build, sales and follow-up for Genesis Group–separating it from other landscaping companies.

What really gives Barry satisfaction is the unmatched quality of work all his customers enjoy. He loves being creative and seeing things come to fruition, taking a lot of pride in the end result and doing whatever it takes to make a satisfied customer. He also loves the diversity of people that he gets to work for, and many customers feel like family when the job is done. Barry says, “Customer satisfaction will always be the key to Genesis Group.”

Barry studied at Oregon State University, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then spent 10 years as an engineer with Hewlett Packard (HP), during which time he had a great deal of hands-on learning in building houses outside his “real job”. He built his own home in in the west side of Colorado Springs, and continues to live there with his wife, Kari. They have four awesome children.

Nan Alberts serves as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Accounting. Nan brings with her over three decades of experience in Finance and Human Resources, having owned and operated her own business for 20 years as well as working in both corporate and non-profit companies. Outside of work, Nan, with her husband is very involved in their local church, she enjoys living life with her husband Chris, spending time with friends and enjoying the beauty of Colorado.

Benjamin began his career in sales, working in the billing software industry where he sold to both large and small doctor groups. He then went into Restaurant Management for a number of years before returning to the sales filed. In January of 2023, he joined Genesis Group as a Sales/Outdoor Living Consultant. Benjamin has been married for 12 years and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, engaging in outdoor activities, and spending quality time with family and friends. He also loves being creative with crafts and projects alongside his family.

Lee is the Project Manager for the Landscape Division. Lee has 15 years of construction experience and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. He finds joy in both building structures and constructing memories. Beyond his professional life, you will find Lee skiing, hiking, or ballroom dancing with his wife. Whether he's pursuing his latest hobbies or tackling renovation projects, Lee's dedication to precision and creativity shines through in every endeavor.

Nick moved to Colorado Springs after honorably discharging from the Marine Corps in 2016. Due to his multifaceted career as a federal contractor and as a civilian employee for the United States Air Force, Nick is seasoned in coordination with a knack for discipline. This has afforded him a high competency in complicated logistical operations and a mindset that prioritizes communication. Nick started with Genesis as Customer Service Coordinator and then was promoted to the role of Ops Personnel Manager. After serving both roles well, Nick wanted to get out in the field and work with his hands again. He has been our Landscape Foreman since February 2023. Having traveled the world, Nick interacted with numerous cultures and ideologies affording him a keen customer service know-how. He enjoys educating others and on his off time, Nick coaches high school football. Other hobbies include riding motorcycles, restoring classic vehicles, and learning about wealth management.

Robert joined Genesis as a Warranty Specialist in August 2023. In addition to his role at Genesis, he is pursuing a degree in Business. Each year, he dedicates a month to supporting his family's ministry at the local fairgrounds.

Dave has been the Ops Support Technician since April of 2016. His role includes making deliveries for both the Deck and Landscaping divisions as well as keeping the warehouse organized. On Dave's off time, he is involved in his local church and enjoys fishing and enjoying time at the family cabin.
