Barry Aho
Owner of Genesis Group, LLC
Any organization’s personality comes from the top, and Genesis Group is blessed to have Barry Aho as its founder and leader for 20 years. Barry is a true engineer at heart, and he has created many processes in the areas of design, build, sales and follow-up for Genesis Group-separating it from other landscaping companies.
What really gives Barry satisfaction is the unmatched quality of work all of his customers enjoy. He loves being creative and seeing things come to fruition, taking a lot of pride in the end result and doing whatever it takes to make a satisfied customer. He also loves the diversity of people that he gets to work for, and many customers feel like family when the job is done. Barry says, “Customer satisfaction will always be the key to Genesis Group.”
Barry studied at Oregon State University, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then spent 10 years as an engineer with Hewlett Packard (HP), during which time he had a great deal of hands-on learning in building houses outside his “real job”. He has designed and built 12 custom homes in the Colorado Springs area including his current home, and continues to live there with his wife, Kari.

Nan Alberts serves as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Accounting. Nan brings with her over three decades of experience in Finance and Human Resources, having owned and operated her own business for 20 years as well as working in both corporate and non-profit companies.
Outside of work, Nan, along with her husband Chris, is very involved in their local church. She enjoys living life with her husband, spending time with friends and enjoying the beauty of Colorado.

Joe Cunningham is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Genesis Group, LLC, bringing over 20 years of experience in business development, sales leadership, and client relations. With a background in managed care, healthcare, and nonprofit operations, Joe has a proven track record of driving growth, building strong partnerships, and leading teams to deliver exceptional results.
A two-time national award winner for revenue excellence, Joe combines strategic insight with a people-first approach to help clients turn their outdoor visions into reality. He holds a Master’s in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego and advanced degrees in psychology, grounding his leadership in integrity, collaboration, and service.
Benjamin Ford

Benjamin began his career in sales within the building materials industry, where he worked closely with both large and small doctor groups to deliver tailored product solutions. After several successful years in that field, he transitioned into restaurant management, gaining valuable leadership and operational experience before ultimately returning to his passion for sales.
In January 2023, Benjamin joined Genesis Group as an Outdoor Living Consultant, bringing his diverse background and customer-focused approach to the team. He has been married for 12 years and is a proud father of two. Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, participating in outdoor activities, and spending quality time with family and friends. He also finds joy in creative projects and hands-on crafts with his family.
Lee Lyon

Lee is the Project Manager for the Landscape Division. He has 15 years of construction experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He finds joy in both building structures and constructing memories. Beyond his professional life, you’ll find Lee hiking, biking, or ballroom dancing with his wife. Whether he’s pursuing his latest hobbies or tackling renovation projects, Lee’s dedication to precision and creativity shines through in every endeavor.
Dave Smith
Ops Support Technician
Dave has been the Ops Support Technician since April of 2016. His role includes making deliveries for both the Deck and Landscaping divisions as well as keeping the warehouse organized. On Dave’s off time, he is involved in his local church and enjoys fishing and enjoying time at the family cabin.
